Box Office Information 8th-10th June 2007

Ching ching ching (imagine the sound of a fruit machine in a casino!) - Danny Ocean and his bunch of casino-heisters are back on form as Ocean's Thirteen (Warner Bros.) opens in 1st place this weekend, taking £3m. Back in Vegas for this third and final installment, George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt re-unite with Don Cheadle (unfortunately, still with his dodgy cockney accent), Bernie Mac and the rest of the merry men to seek revenge on casino owner Willy Banks, played by Al Pacino, after he double-crosses one of their own - Reuben Tishkoff, played by Elliot Gould.

This time however, Terry Benedict a.k.a Andy Garcia also tags along to seek revenge on his arch nemesis Banks. If you watch closely you will also spot cross-dressing Brit Eddie Izzard, as well as French warbler Celine Dion making her acting debut. I can't promise however that she won't break out in song!!! Having the 7th highest opening weekend of the year, there is no doubt that Clooney & Co will hit the jackpot and become one of this year's high-rollers!

Whilst Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (BVI) holds the 2nd place slot, having become the highest grossing film of the year to date (£33.7m), US rapper Ice Cube plays it cool as a DIY dad without a clue in Are We Done Yet? (Sony). The sequel to 2005's Are We There Yet?, Ice Cube reprises his role as head of the Persons family, when having decided to move his family out to the suburbs, he is plagued by a contractor with a rather bizarre approach to business (played by John "Dr Cox in Scrubs" McGinley). Taking £419k on opening weekend, Are We Done Yet? opened in 3rd place.

The wedding season is upon us and Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher are preparing for their nuptials in The Wedding Daze (Pathe), which is in 4th place having taken £1.6m to date. Meanwhile, Spidey is busy keeping the streets of Manhattan clear from baddies in Spider-Man 3 (Sony) which is in 5th place with a box office total of £33m.

The last new entry into the charts is the documentary Taking Liberties (Revolver) which opened in 15th place with £21k. Narrated by Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen, Taking Liberties aims to expose the shocking truth about the erosion of our civil liberties under Tony Blair's government. Power to the people!
