Roland Emmerich's 10,000 BC (Warner Bros.) opened with £1.9m and is a prehistoric epic set, unsurprisingly, in around 10,000 BC, when wooly mammoths and sabre tooth tigers rules the land. In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D'Leh (Steven Strait), has found true love with the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle), however when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap her, D'Leh is forced to lead a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. Ahh, isn't that sweet! Obviously, the harsh landscape offers up some pretty nasty obstacles for D'Leh to overcome before he can be with his woman.

All sorts of shenanigans are still taking place in Salamanca, Spain as Vantage Point (Sony) is in 2nd place with £3m after 2 weeks, whilst Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is coming to terms with his child-friendly side in The Game Plan (Walt Disney Int.) which has taken £1.7m. Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman are vying for Henry VIII's love in The Other Boleyn Girl (Universal), which is in 4th place with £2.4m, with The Bank Job (Lionsgate) in 5th place on £2.9m.

If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise, because you won't find cuddly teddy bears there but a psychopathic farmer in The Cottage (Pathe). When two brothers, David (Andy Serkis) and Peter (Reece Shearsmith), kidnap underworld crime boss Arnie's daughter Tracey (Jennifer Ellison), and hold her for ransom in a secluded country cottage, Arnie's treacherous son Andrew shows up with the money - intending on stealing it so he can escape the family 'business'. He's unwittingly followed by his father's bloodthirsty henchman, however nobody has counted on the psychopathic killer farmer who starts knocking them off one-by-one.

The last new entry into the charts has young girls screaming and dancing in the aisles as Disney's Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both World's Concert Tour 3D (Walt Disney Intl.) hit our screens in 9th place with £241k. The new teen sensation in the States, the Hannah Montana series focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus) by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night, concealing her real identity from the public. Presented in full 3D, don those glasses and learn all the words to be like, totally cool and with the in-crowd!

Interesting film fact of the week: Hannah Montana a.k.a Miley Stewart a.k.a Miley Cyrus is the daughter of none other than country and western's finest, Billy Ray "Achy Breaky Heart" Cyrus. He even appears in the film!

Exciting film news of the week: Following the brief break in viral activity surrounding The Dark Knight, material is starting to flood the web again with DA Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) as its subject. Two new viral sites have appeared (http://www.gothamcityclerk.com/ and http://www.gothamelectionboard.com/) although they are still being 'built'.
